Short term living & teaching in Thailand

Is it really possible to live & work in Thailand for a couple of months at a time, or will I have to commit myself for a longer period?

Yes and no. Usually if you get a teaching job in Thailand, you will be expected to sign up for a 1 year teaching contract, that's the minimum that will be expected from you. What you do after that will be your choice.

Is it easy to get a work permit in Thailand?

To successfully obtain a work permit in Thailand you must show a four year B.A / BSc degree + the transcripts.

If you don't posses the neccesary paperwork then you'll still be able to find a teaching post teaching English in Thailand, though in a lot of cases you'll have trouble getting a work permit! Simply this translates to... you'll have to do visa runs!
